The first grade is designed to provide students with many opportunities to gain skills needed for successful and independent reading and writing. The first grade also provides a manipulative-based math program in order for students to acquire essential math skills and strategies.

A variety of learning experiences is used during the school year to incorporate different learning styles. Both small group and large group instruction occurs throughout the school day.
