If there’s ever been a time when cooking at home and the need for a well-stocked kitchen has been important, this is the time. One of the easiest ways to keep a family fed and healthy is to know how to clean, organize, and stock your pantry, freezer, and fridge. In this four-week series, you’ll learn tips and tricks to keep your house stocked and family fed for up to one month between grocery shopping trips.
Week 1: Pantry Essentials: Cleaning, organizing, and stocking your pantry with dry goods. Learn what foods are essential, tips for safe storage, and tricks to never run out.
Week 2: Fridge & Freezer Basics: Cleaning, organizing, and stocking your fridge and freezer. Learn what foods to freeze for longer shelf life, how to use the fridge and freezer to make weeknight meals easier, and how to organize and store items to keep yourself and your family well.
Week 3: Fruit & Veggies 101: Purchasing, washing, and storing. We’ve all been told that fruits and vegetables are important for health, but keeping them in stock when grocery trips only happen once a month can be challenging. In this session, you’ll learn how to safely handle and keep produce fresher longer.
Week 4: 5 A’s of Meal Planning: Take everything you’ve learned in the first three sessions and put it together to create a weekly meal plan. You’ll learn my functional 5-step process to help you easily plan meals and snacks everyone in your family will love. Once you’ve formed the habit of meal planning, putting nutritious meals on the table becomes a quick and simple process.
This course is being taught by Amy Halfmann, a registered and licensed dietitian in the state of Texas. Amy is the owner of A.Ha Nutrition, a nutrition education, consulting, and communication company that works with businesses and community organizations to develop and deliver engaging nutrition education programs. Amy also helps busy moms plan, shop, cook for, and feed their families easy, nourishing meals. She is a mom of 4 and wife of a cotton farmer. Her unique background allows her to connect with consumers to provide trusted farm-to-fork grocery and feeding guidance.
