We have exciting hands-on art experiences happening this year! You can look forward to seeing the third-grade personal seals, fourth-grade portraits, and fifth-grade bronze sculptures and fly-tying, and we will continue to make projects that you can order through Original Art Works. Additionally, our students are scheduled for 15 art classes each quarter. While we begin with creating in the homeroom class, our continued safety, sanitizing, and patience will bring each class to our beautiful art room.
The purpose for this is to grow within your child a foundational understanding and skills in the visual arts. We will practice artistic activities that build creative strategies, skills, and habits of mind.
Through the Montana Standards for Arts, students:

Create art pieces to display at home!

Learn procedures, skills, and craftsmanship through the art-making process.

Develop understanding of the meaning and purpose of visual art.

Discuss works of art and the artists in order to apply our knowledge.

Express their ideas and explore their imaginations.
