Teacher/Student Support Specialist

Gallatin Gateway School is hiring a 1.0 FTE teacher to serve as a 0.5 FTE middle school teacher and 0.5 FTE Student Support Specialist.  The Student Support Specialist position will be a new position for the 2019-2020 school year.

Skills needed include classroom management, computer knowledge, grammar and writing, differentiated instruction, and knowledge of Montana history and culture.  This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills for the classroom and for community relations (i.e. classroom newsletter and website).  This position calls for a team-player approach and an ability to integrate content across multiple disciplines.
 
Beneficial teacher training includes Dibels, DRA, AimsWeb, Step-Up-To-Writing, and experience modifying curriculum and grading for students at-risk and/or gifted.   A flexible, team-player approach is needed for working in this family-oriented, high-expectations school atmosphere

Qualified applicants should show experience with guided reading, have strong math knowledge, understand the Montana State Standards and Expectations, and be Montana K-8 Certified. Preference will be given to applicants who also possess other Montana teacher certification/endorsements.
